Wow. Looks like you've figured quite a hard part already. I bet we could 
help you with hooking it up to ZConfig.
The best thing would probably be if you could check in your stuff into a 
Zope3-branch. All you'd have to do is become a Zope contributor 
(http://dev.zope.org/CVS/ContributorFAQ).
