Note that having a secure Python interpreter in the code already, the
implementation of Python Scripts should be a trivial task (in fact you can
look at the current <script> code how to do it. It all should not take more
than half a day.
However, I agree with Jim that finding the right solution is a much trickier
issue. I think to answer this question, we need to look at each audience and
see what they need and expect. Then we need to figure out how we want to
facilitate the transition from a Scripter -> Site Developer -> Extension
(Product) Developer -> Python Developer. Once we know all this fairly well, I
think we can talk about the tools to support these groups and transitions.
Note that I think that we have already a set of tools available that fit some
of the groups.
