I didn't meant that there are no good starting points available. A
implementation of the petstore could be good to have, to promote the
advantages of zope in the JAVA/.NET camp, for instance. We could
compare it to the existing applications implemented in JAVA/.NET or
whatever, architecturewise, speed of development, LoC :-) ...
I admit, its more a promotion gag. On the other hand, all the
applications you mentioned, are offer quite isolated functionality,
which is good because it is easy to incorporate into own applications.
But the petstore would be a complete sample application, with fancy
skins and stuff hence "a real world application".
