I don't think it has much to do with platform. More the size of youre 
installations.

I have quite a few customers that has multiple instance runing on the 
same hardware. That is quite feasible for minor organisations.

I most often use different versions of Zope for the different sites, as 
I don't much enjoy upgrading stuff that works. So in my situation it is 
*very* common.

As long as it isn't used a lot in production I don't think that a 
Windows installer is very important.
