There is not. layer refers to this interface:

class IXGMSkin(zope.app.rotterdam.Rotterdam):
    """Skin for xgm.de."""

But your hint has lead to the solution. I have an interface:

class IAbbreviation(Interface):
  [...]

    description = TextLine(
        title = u"Erklaerung",
        required = False,
        default = "")  <--

Which I have changed to

default = u""
