[Zope-Perl] pyperl installation clue, please

Updated my Python to:

 ActivePython 2.1, build 210 ActiveState

Also didn't mention I have:

 gcc version 2.95.1 19990816 (release)

Still getting:

 ld: fatal: relocations remain against allocatable but non-writable sections
 collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

However, the installation continues ... and eventually bombs out doing
a gcc -shared operation. I have full logs if anyone is willing to check
'em out.
