| Ok, the ldapauth package was the work before the Isar sprint.
| It works base on the 3.0 branch with Nicolas Evrard.

Yes, Nicolas was the other name I saw on the list discussing that
project with you. I don't know when the Isar sprint was, though.

| On the Isar sprint we developed another package called
| ldapadapter from scratch base on the new authentication package
| with Florent form Nuxeo.

I thought ldapadapter was a general-purpose layer for using LDAP in
Zope3, and this would imply that ldappas is a new-style authentication
package that uses ldapadapter. If that is the case, then it seems
that ldapauth ought to die when 3.0 dies, or should be merged with
ldappas.

We need a 3.1 release Soon to close the gap between the current
release and the known future. Sometimes it is hard to justify using
the trunk, particularly when a stable release exists. However it is
hard to want to work on improving things that are already slated for
removal/change and we can't stay in limbo forever. A 3.1 release will
solve all of these issues by providing a new stable release containing
the post-3.0 redesigns.
